Kukkutasana – The Posture of the Cock

Kukkutasana Yoga

How To Do Kukkutasana

Sit in Padma Asana (described elsewhere) and slip your hands between your hands between your calves (loose flesh behind your legs) and forelegs in such a way that you are able to touch the ground with the palms of your hands. Then raise your whole body so that the weight of the entire body is on your hands. This posture is known as Kukkuta Asana i.e. the Posture of the Cock. Stay in this position for as long as you are able to. Thereafter, place your body to the ground again. Repeat this posture for a few times.

Precautions of Kukkutasana

Those of you who have excessive hair on the legs, will face some difficulty in slipping hands between forelegs and the calves. Putting some oil on that calves will solve this problem.
